Nineteen years ago, I started my career in ministry. It is not the career path I had set out on, but one that God had encouraged me towards in His gentle way. I planned to become a teacher, and in my early twenties, I obtained my bachelor's in Elementary Education from Anderson University. After teaching 5th grade for a year, I felt this draw and excitement to a career in ministry.

Over the span of fifteen years, I had the privilege of being on staff at two different churches. I started my ministry career as a Children's Pastor, but during those fifteen years, I found my most profound passion was in my role as a Discipleship Pastor. As a Discipleship Pastor, I obtain my ministry license and develop pastoral care skills.

During Covid, God laid on my heart to disciple and care for others differently. I watched as individuals felt lost, anxious, fearful, and alone by the onset of Covid. I also experienced many individuals blaming God and walking away from Him and the church. In this season, God brought Luke 12:6-7 to mind. "Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet, not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs on your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." I knew at that moment that God was calling me to mentor individuals by walking alongside them in their hardships and helping them see that God has not forgotten them but is actively working in their lives. I started Sparrow Mentoring in 2020. My passion is to remind individuals that God has not forgotten them but is always moving in their everyday lives. Together, my clients and I explore how to discern and experience God and His redemption in their lives.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jonathan. I met my wonderful husband, Jonathan, after reconnecting at Lifeway Christian Bookstore. Jonathan and I attended Kindergarten through High School in a different state, but God brought us together in Indiana. Jonathan and I have been married for eighteen years and are parents of two wonderful boys. Life brings me much joy when I hang out with my family, go on dates with Jonathan, read, and spend time in nature.

Grief Care Mentor

My grief journey began several years ago when my husband of almost 14 years suddenly passed away. For many years, my husband, Ryan, struggled with juvenile diabetes and all the complications that can come with it. From countless doctor's visits to multiple hospitalizations to major surgeries, including organ transplantation, Ryan battled physically and mentally until his sudden passing. Ryan's passing left me a widow and mother of two small girls, Savannah and Aria. Over the past two years, I have been processing my way through and finding healing on my grief journey. On my grief journey, I have learned that you can experience grief in many different ways, with feelings such as anger, confusion, betrayal, abandonment, and even questioning God's will, but that He hears us and wants to be our comfort. I know grief is not linear but rather a journey with peaks and valleys and that having the support of others can ease the pain and hurt we feel following loss. Through my journey as a single parent, giving myself grace has been one of the most challenging but crucial lessons I have learned.

After my husband passed away, I turned to faith and grief care support. I joined Sparrow Mentoring's grief sessions, and it was a comforting experience. I learned how to process my feelings and that grief can coexist with joy, gratitude, and happiness. This support not only helped me heal but also deepened my understanding of God's love and His desire to show us His goodness. It's a journey that has left me reassured and comforted, and I'm eager to share this comfort with others.

My fifteen-year career in health care, fueled by a passion for helping people, has given me a unique perspective on grief. The recent challenges and loss of my husband have deepened my relationship with God. This journey has not only enriched my understanding of grief but also ignited a desire to guide others in their own grief and loss journey. As a Grief Mentor, I aim to help people comprehend the emotional aspects of grief and integrate it into their lives. If you're grieving, I urge you to seek support through Grief Care Mentoring with Sparrow Mentoring.

From a young age, I have had a deep desire to walk alongside others and connect on a soul level. While I naturally gravitated toward helping and encouraging those around me, I also learned through my own life experiences how important wise, Christ-centered guidance is—especially in areas such as healthy boundaries, identity, and spiritual growth. Over time, God has shown me that the counsel we receive can either draw us closer to Him or pull us toward the ways of the world.

Christian mentoring has become a pivotal part of my journey. Through it, God transformed my heart and renewed my mind in ways I never imagined. I came to understand my identity as a daughter of God and learned how to take my thoughts captive and align them with His truth. One verse that continues to shape both my life and my mentoring approach is Romans 12:2, "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." This reminds us that true transformation comes through the renewing of our minds and surrendering our lives to God's will.

I am passionate about walking alongside women as they strengthen their relationship with God and navigate the seasons of life He has placed them in. My heart is to support women in areas such as spiritual growth, thought patterns, healthy boundaries, relationships, marriage, parenting, and life transitions. I believe every person has a story—filled with both joy and challenge—and that God meets us faithfully in every part of it. He calls us His children and promises never to leave us.

My desire as a mentor is to provide a safe, grace-filled space where women can process life, grow in discernment, and be gently stirred toward Christ. I believe no one should walk alone, and that understanding God's love and truth can bring freedom, clarity, and hope.

Outside of mentoring, I cherish time with my husband, Jason, and our son. My husband and I met when we were fifteen years old, and we have shared 20 years of life together and 13 years of marriage. As a family, we enjoy cooking, laughing, traveling, and spending time outdoors. I feel deeply connected to God in nature and value being intentional with the family He has entrusted to me.
