Gratitude Day 7: Thankful For His Faithfulness

Dear Christian Mentor,

I sometimes find it difficult to trust God with what is happening in my life right now, especially when I don't understand what He is doing or how things will turn out. I know God has been faithful in the past, but when new challenges arise, I can become anxious and forget how He has carried me before. How can I learn to remember His faithfulness and allow it to strengthen my trust in Him?

Dear Mentee,

One of the most beautiful ways to strengthen our faith is to remember the ways God has been faithful throughout our lives. Sometimes we don't recognize His hand in our circumstances until we look back and see how He carried us through a difficult season, provided when we needed help, or gave us strength when we felt we had nothing left.

Deuteronomy 7:9 reminds us, “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” (NIV).

God's faithfulness is not dependent on our ability to understand what He is doing. He remains faithful even when life feels uncertain, prayers seem unanswered, or the road ahead is unclear. The same God who walked with you through yesterday's struggles is walking with you today.

When we take time to remember His faithfulness, we build a foundation of trust for the seasons still to come. Our past becomes a reminder that we can place our future in His hands.

Today, take a moment to look back. Remember a time when God carried you through something difficult. Consider the strength, provision, comfort, or direction He provided. Let those memories remind you that you can trust Him with whatever lies ahead.

A Question to Reflect On:

Can you think of a season when God carried you through something difficult? How does remembering His faithfulness help you trust Him with what you are facing today?
