Gratitude Day 5: The Blessings of His Presence

Dear Christian Mentor,

I know I should be thankful for all that God has given me, but I sometimes find myself focusing more on what He does for me than simply being thankful that He is with me. When life gets busy or uncertain, I can feel distracted and disconnected from God. How can I become more aware of His presence in my everyday life and learn to find joy in simply walking with Him?

Dear Mentee,

One of the greatest gifts God gives us is Himself. We often thank Him for answered prayers, opportunities, relationships, and provisions, but how often do we stop to thank Him simply for being with us?

Psalm 16:11 reminds us, “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” (NIV).

God's presence is not reserved for quiet mornings, church services, or moments when life is going well. He is with us in the middle of our busy schedules, our difficult conversations, our unanswered questions, and the ordinary moments of everyday life.

Sometimes we focus so much on asking God to change our circumstances that we forget the gift of walking through them with Him. His presence comforts us when we are hurting, gives us direction when we feel lost, and brings joy that doesn't depend on what is happening around us.

You never have to walk alone. God desires a relationship with you, not simply a list of requests brought before Him. Make room in your day to slow down, talk with Him, listen to His Word, and recognize His presence.

Today, let your gratitude extend beyond what God has done for you. Thank Him for the beautiful gift of knowing Him and walking with Him each day.

A Question to Reflect On:

How intentional are you about recognizing God's presence in your everyday life? What is one way you can make room to spend time with Him today?
