Dear Christian Mentor, Can you walk with me through Lent? (Day 37 Saved)
Saved!
"And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest.” ~Matthew 21:9
Dear Christian Mentor,
I have participated in Lent many times, but it often feels like something I should do rather than an experience that draws me closer to the Lord. Can you walk with me through the season of Lent?
Dear Mentee,
This Sunday is Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. As Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, the crowds laid down their cloaks along His path and waved palm branches, shouting, “Hosanna, Hosanna.” The word Hosanna means “save.” While the crowd longed for deliverance from Roman oppression, Jesus understood the deeper rescue that was needed—the salvation of our souls.
He knew this road would lead to the cross. He knew the praise would soon turn to rejection. And yet, He continued forward—out of deep love for us.
As you enter Holy Week, I want to gently invite you to move beyond routine and into relationship. This is not simply a week to observe; it is a sacred opportunity to walk closely with Jesus. To see His heart. To reflect on His sacrifice. To receive His love in a deeper, more personal way.
Let this week be different.
Slow down. Pay attention. Sit with Him in each moment—His entry, His teaching, His suffering, and ultimately, His victory.
Today’s Promise:
Jesus is not distant from your journey—He walks it with you. The same Savior who entered Jerusalem with purpose enters into your life with intention, love, and a desire to save, restore, and renew.
Application Questions:
What am I truly asking Jesus to “save” me from in this season?
Am I seeking Him for who He is, or only for what He can do for me?
How can I intentionally walk with Jesus this Holy Week rather than just observe it?
Today’s Fast:
Fast from distraction and spiritual passivity. When you feel the urge to rush, scroll, or move on quickly, pause and turn your attention back to Jesus. Create space to be present with Him.
