Faithfulness

"Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” ~ Lamentations 3:22-23

Dear Christian Mentor,

I have participated in Lent many times, but it often feels like something I should do rather than an experience that draws me closer to the Lord. Can you walk with me through the season of Lent?


Dear Mentee,

Lamentations 3:22–23 reveals the beautiful character of God. He loves deeply. He is full of compassion. His mercies are new every morning. His faithfulness never wavers.

It is one thing to know who God is—but another to truly believe it.
Do we actually trust in His faithfulness?

What if the prayer isn’t answered the way you hoped?
What if your dreams fall apart?
What if life doesn’t unfold the way you planned?

In those moments, belief is tested.

Lent invites us to move beyond head knowledge into heart trust. It calls us to anchor ourselves not in outcomes, but in the unchanging character of God. His faithfulness is not dependent on our circumstances—it remains constant, even when life feels uncertain.

Every morning, His mercy meets you again.
Every moment, His compassion covers you.
Every season, His love holds you steady.

Today’s Promise:
God’s faithfulness does not change with your circumstances. His mercies are renewed daily, and His love will sustain you no matter what you face.

Application Questions:

  • Where in your life are you struggling to trust God’s faithfulness?

  • Are you basing your belief in God on your circumstances or on His character?

  • What would it look like today to fully trust Him, even without understanding?

Today’s Fast:
Fast from doubting God’s faithfulness. When fear or uncertainty arises, pause and declare: “Great is Your faithfulness, Lord. Your mercies are new for me today.”
